    CLUB DINNER AND AWARDS PRESENTATION 2018

    On Saturday 8th September the club held its annual dinner and awards night at the Red Lion in the upstairs function room, a welcome return

    There was a good turnout of around 40 players, partners, members and friends to celebrate the club's season

    Following an excellent carvery meal, Club captain and Chairman Ross Baker presented the awards as follows:

    President's Cup: Ross Baker(awarded to the player making the most outstanding on-field contribution throughput the season)

    Pinney Shield: William Moss and Lewis Keenan (for the two best young players of the year)

    Batting Cup: Chris Park (for consistently outstanding and reliable batting and highest score)

    Roger Bailey Bowling Cup: Dave Persey (for consistently good bowling this year)

    Welsford Shield for Fielding: Cameron Lucas (fielder of the year)

    Captain's Tankard: Giles Moss (for invaluable all round contributions on match days)

    Stiby Cup: Nikki Moss: ('Clubman' of the Year for the selfless dedication of many hours of service to the club over and above the line of duty)

    Champagne Moment: William Moss and Ollie Bareham (last wicket winning partnership at Kingson Lacy).

    Upon reflecting the importance of the club's lady cricketers, awards were made for outstanding contributions as follows:

    Best Bowler:Caroline Loder. Consistently the best 'death bolwer'

    Best Batter:Emma House. Huge improvement with a wide range of shots

    Best Fielder:Karen Reeve. For solid and reliable wicketkeeping

    Most Improved Player:Toni Childs. Confidence has improved beyond measure

    Champagne Moment: Hayley Francis. Consistently being the player everyone enjoys watching

    Ross also made special mention of two people who have made a wonderful contribution to the success of the club this past season:

    Melanie White for her dedicated work behind the scenes in organising fixtures, events planning and fundraising

    Geoff Crabb for his countless hours preparing the best wickets the club has ever had and that are complimented by every visiting team.
