    BCC 6-a-side Tournament

Every Bank Holiday Monday at the end of August, BCC hosts a 6 a side tournament. Games are played at the Memorial Ground and the Beaminster School pitch with 4 teams in each group playing each other once. The top 2 teams in the group play in a final at the Memorial Ground and the second placed teams compete for a shield.

    6-a-side Tournament Match Rules
The Laws of Cricket will apply except:
    • Games are played between two teams of six players, and each game consists of a maximum of five six-ball overs bowled by each side.
    • Each member of the fielding side bowls one over, with the exception of the wicket-keeper.
    • Wides and no-balls count as two runs.
    • If five wickets fall before 5 overs are completed, the last remaining batter bats on with the fifth batter acting as a runner. He/she always takes strike. The innings is complete when the sixth wicket falls.
    • Batter’s retire not out on reaching 31 runs. The idea being to reach 36 runs by hitting 6 sixes. A retired batter can return to the crease after lower-order batter either retire or are out.
    • The tournament points system awards two points for each match won.

    Paper Collection

Every first Sunday morning of the month (9am start), BCC club members and helpers collect waste paper and cardboard around the town for recycling. Paper is kindly left outside houses in the Beaminster area before being collected in vehicles and loaded into a recycling skip situated at Buglers yard in Beaminster (on the Broadwindsor Road).

We encourage everyone in the Beaminster area to help with this initiative by either leaving your paper/cardboard outside your house for us to collect or by helping us with the paper collection on the day.

All of the money raised from the paper collection is put towards the successful running of Beaminster Cricket Club.
